There are very strict guidelines in place for Listed Buildings and properties in conservation areas when it comes to replacing old windows. You can’t just fit any type of window as it’s unlikely to be approved. What will usually be approved is Residence 9 as it shares all the characteristics of a traditional 19th Century Flush Sash Timber Window. You can see that for yourself when viewing this property that has been equipped with Residence 9 in a sultry Clotted Cream colour. The period feel has been reinstated following its installation.
It’s an obviously patriotic family living here if the Union Jack cushion is anything to go by and they loved that Residence 9 has been built in Britain. They also adored Georgian bars and asked if we could incorporate them into the final window design, which of course we were only too happy to do. As is custom with a wooden flush sash window, you get deep internal and external cills and hardware befitting of the 19th Century including monkeytail handles and stays. They’re so alike period hardware! The final jigsaw in the puzzle filled by the Residence 9 window is its supreme thermal qualities and the exceptional security it provides in contrast to wood.
