- Tiled and solid roofs. Both supreme insulators, tiled and solid conservatory roofs are easily fitted because they’re amazingly lightweight.
- Hybrid roofs. A hybrid roof provides a combination of solid, insulated panels and glazed facets, rewarding you with balanced light and insulation.
- Polycarbonate roofs. The cheapest option is the polycarbonate roof, but it offers nowhere near the same thermal performance as modern tiled and glass roofs.
- Roof lanterns. Often a major architectural focal point in extensions and modern conservatories, roof lanterns possess solar-control glazing and fuel spaces with optimum comfort.
Planning Permission and Building Regulations
Permitted development rights apply to most conservatory roof replacements, meaning that they don’t need planning permission.
This isn’t the case if a conservatory roof upgrade will entail a large overhaul of the original structure or the relevant house is either listed or in a conservation area.
