Envisage Windows – A Modern Take On The Traditional Flush Casement Window

It feels as though flush casement windows have been around forever as they’re such an enduring classic.

Flush Casement Windows on Modern Property

They’re not that old however as they were first developed in the 19th Century. May be it seems like there’s never been a time when flush casements haven’t been around because we love them so much, especially the beautiful flush finish they have on the outside of the design.

When they were first made, flush casement windows would use a timber frame. But, there aren’t many original timber flush casements left in the UK, unless you happen to visit a conservation area or Listed Building somewhere.

Keen to ensure they don’t die out, we decided to create our very own flush casement window, one that has the styling of a traditional flush casement, but offers modern window performance.

We christened this range ‘Envisage’ and dared to be different, manufacturing it from a UPVC profile and neglecting to use the usually customary wood.

It has gone down a storm!

The whole design uses the same proportions that a traditional wood flush casement would have and has the same form of window furniture (monkeytail handles) and colours (ten in total). It’s no wonder then that customers often mistake Envisage for an authentic wood-crafted flush casement window.

You would find it difficult to tell Envisage apart from a traditional flush casement and that’s despite it having a UPVC frame.

Using UPVC was logical as it meant that Envisage wouldn’t need any future maintenance (repairs or repainting). UPVC is also a far greater insulator than wood, promising to keep draughts out and as much warmth as possible in, leading to more affordable fuel costs for householders.

Envisage can be a superb investment for two very different camps of people. Those that need to preserve the original character of a house, and those that want to give their modern residence a vintage touch. In either example, these flush casements will also make a dwelling so much more secure as multi-point locks and other secure-minded features are incorporated into the window.
