Avoid any potential disappointment with your new windows and doors by only choosing a FENSA-registered firm.
Visual was accepted on to the window and door industry’s leading Competent Person Scheme some time ago (Registered No. 29296), which has gained more notoriety following a recent TV campaign.
If you haven’t come across their adverts or the ‘FENSA’ name before, we are well placed to fill you in on the significance of having a FENSA accreditation.
The backstory of FENSA
FENSA, better known as the Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme, was established, with Government approval, in 2002, by the Glass and Glazing Federation.
It became the very first Competent Person Scheme for the window and door installation industry in England and Wales.
Only when you appoint a FENSA installer will you receive a FENSA certificate.
This is a significant document as it acts as proof that your window and door installation is compliant with building regulations, energy efficient, and registered with your local authority.
It needs to be kept in a safe place as you will need the certificate to sell your home.
Without this certificate, you will have to self-certify the installation yourself, for a fee, arranging for your Local Building Control Officer to inspect it.
FENSA keep tabs on all their Approved Installers, including us.
We are regularly assessed to ensure that we are continuing to comply with building regulations and our customers are assured of quality installations.
If FENSA notice any dip in our installation standards, they can retract our accreditation, which would almost certainly lead to a reduction in business.
We keep our standards consistently high to avert this situation.
See the FENSA logo as very much a symbol of trust. Visual won’t disappoint in any respect, as you will quickly realise when you call into one of our showrooms.
You won’t be hearing so much of it now that we’re in lockdown, but in normal circumstances, noise generated outside can cause you issues indoors…
Until solid tiled roofs were created, there was very little you could do to resolve the issue of a conservatory overheating in summer or becoming…
