Put Your Energies Into Creating A Warmer Home This Bank Holiday

Stuck for things to do this weekend? If you’re a homeowner you shouldn’t be!

Winter is fast approaching and unless you do more to make your property more energy efficient you could be facing an expensive few months as its largely expected that energy bills will be going up in price in the very near future.

In the past three years alone, annual fuel costs have risen by more than £300, that’s despite many of our major suppliers announcing hefty profits over the past few months.

If you’ve had enough of being charged a fortune then you need to look into some of the below energy-saving methods:

Change suppliers

Loyalty counts for nothing nowadays as far as energy is concerned. By staying loyal to your supplier you could be paying way over the odds on your bills. Never switched before? You could save anything up to £300 by doing so. Even those who have switched before can expect to save something and every penny counts. Logon at the weekend and visit an online comparison site to find the cheapest package available.

Apply foil to radiators

Sometimes it’s the simplest things that prove to be the most effective. Kitchen foil is extremely cheap to buy and can be applied to the back of your radiators as a way of reflecting any heat generated back into the relevant room. Your home will feel much warmer as a result and you will then be able to turn your thermostat down a little.

Energy-saving light bulbs

Pay a visit to your local DIY store and purchase some energy-saving light bulbs, fitting them in place of any traditional light bulbs you have as they are far more efficient.

Buy new appliances

Buy yourself an A-rated kettle, TV, fridge, freezer, washing machine, microwave etc. as they utilise far less energy when in operation than any old appliances you may still have.

Or why not pay a visit to one of Conservatory, Window and Door Outlet’s showrooms to view the very latest windows and doors. They’ll all save you energy in the long-run.
