CONSERVATORY, ORANGERY OR HOUSE EXTENSION?

Unlike most other forms of extension, a conservatory isn’t usually designed to mimic the house where it will be fitted, more to complement its appearance. Because it has a high proportion of glass, you can anticipate getting a fabulous external view from any vantage point inside the structure.

Orangeries are the opposite and will be very obviously influenced by their home setting. Much of an orangery is built of brick, rather than being glass-based, giving you added privacy and a year-round space that offers comfortable surroundings day in, day out.

Customers tend to favour a house extension when they want a living space complete with a solid roof or are after something to replace an existing conservatory. Consider having roof windows added to the roof for light gain and overhead ventilation.
