Buy Double Glazing Ahead Of Rising Energy Prices

Energy prices have hit an all-time high and things are only expected to get worse before they, if ever, get better. To try and give homeowners a helping hand the government has proposed a revolutionising change within the energy market, forcing suppliers to restrict the number of tariffs they offer to just four each for gas and electricity and provide households with their cheapest deal.
Currently energy suppliers offer anything upwards of 500 different tariffs which leads to confusion amongst property owners over which package provides them with the best value for money. It is hoped that by restricting the number of tariffs available it will help people better understand their energy bills and prevent them from falling into fuel poverty.
However, some have criticised the move saying that it will reduce competition within the market and could have the opposite effect; namely result in energy bills increasing rather than decreasing. It is expected that energy prices will rise hugely over the coming years anyhow as the government prepares to unveil the Energy Bill, designed to encourage £110bn of investment in new power plants this decade.
Whichever way you look at things there is no doubt that cut-price energy is a thing of the past. The average bill currently stands at around 1,350 pounds per year. Within the next 10 years it could increase to anything up to 2,000 pounds per year. If that is enough to make your eyes water then you need to be making plans as to how you can improve the energy efficiency of your home.
First of all, you need to make more of an effort to use less energy in your home. Too many of us fail to turn off lights, appliances etc. at certain times of the day which results in wasted energy. Then you need to check to see whether your existing windows and doors are providing the insulation your property needs throughout the day.
If there is any sign of draughts and heat loss then get them replaced immediately and install double glazing in Bradford, double glazing in Brighouse or double glazing in Doncaster as it will make better use of the energy created by your boiler system.
Also remember to provide your supplier with a regular meter reading so that you do not get issued with an estimated bill which can often be inaccurate and result in you paying more than you should.
