How To Create An Insta-Worthy Front Door

Property experts and estate agents will tell you just how important it is that your front door looks good.

This message must be getting through to people because if you enter either of the following hashtags #frontdoor or #frontdoors into Instagram, you will see some of the most fashionable doors you can possibly imagine.

These are front doors that immediately turn heads and impress, and there’s no reason why your front door shouldn’t do the same!

With some advice from Visual, you can make your front door the most Insta-worthy door on your street:

Coloured finish

It’s the colour of your door that will be noticed most, so assess every colour option before you repaint your door or buy a new replacement door.

If you want a traditional door colour, you can’t go wrong with a grey, black or white door. But for something different, try a Chartwell Green, aubergine or Duck Egg Blue.

You can even have a pink door, if you really want one. Just remember though that while you might love it, others might hate it.

Door wreath

There are so many front doors with wreaths on them, that your door would look out of place without one. Wreaths only used to come out at Christmas, but not any more!

Try and make your own wreath, if your crafting skills are up to scratch, or just buy a premade real or fake wreath, that has colours in it that are synonymous with the summer season e.g. orange, red and pink.

At the end of every season you could then change your wreath to keep your door on trend.

Plants

And Instagrammers don’t just limit themselves to decorating their front doors with wreaths. Many use planters to more strongly emphasise them.

The most typical planters found at either side of a front door are twin potted bay trees, which do a great job of adding extra stylishness to an entrance.

They will need watering on a regular basis, and the same goes for if you decide to install a hanging basket or two.
